Last Monday after chores I accompanied my friends Doug and Janette to their 46 acres of timber!

On the edge of the famed "46 Acres" rests Friendship Cemetery.

Spring Day

It just seemed like the thing to do. Burn the dead and bring forth the new.

The Son of one of my long time customers was killed in Iraq. His funeral today brings many out to pay respect to the family, including the Patriot Guard Riders. The streets are lines with cars and people today.

Carol Jean visits Missouri

Last Sunday night I picked CJ up at the Kansas City Airport. It was almost 11:00 pm when her flight finally arrived. Almost another 45 minutes to collect her baggage and we were off to Jameson (one more stop for RockStar and Fresca).

It was very cold and I was prepared with a new pair of insulated bib overalls which we put of before heading out to water the horses about 1:30 am. Good thing. Some how the garden hose had locked the screen door as we drug it off the back porch and we were locked out for a few minutes.

Cast Is Finally Off !!!

Yesterday after work Rebecca's husband Mike Bottorff cut the cast of my right arm. I broke my wrist on the 2nd of November and when I had it x-rays six weeks later it was still broken. It's not well so Wednesday I will have it x-rayed again to see what's up. It took over half an hour to cut it off. At least now I can wash my arm.

I was trying to figure out how to put a collage on my blog and ran across some videos I took in March of last year while in Utah to accompany my Dad on a doctor's visit. Pat get ready, this one's for you.

What started as a make over ended up a down to the studs rebuild.

Preparing for Winter

Two years ago I put in a wood stove and I heat with a wood. It's warm but work. I usually get a tree maybe two cut before it gets real cold but never enough for the winter. About every seven to ten days I would spend a day in the woods cutting, splitting, and stacking wood for the stove.

A great time outdoors.







This year I must have been feeling lazy or intuitive I thought I would lighten my work and I bought a BIG pile of wood.




Some I hauled home on the trailer and the rest of it thank goodness I cut, split and loaded in to a wagon all tarped and ready to bring to the house. Well after I broke my wrist I was very thankful to have that much ready to burn...
















This is hedge "Osage Hedge" extremely hard wood and does it burn HOT. You have to watch it as it pops when it burn and can send sparks like fireworks.
